To predict and prevent CVD for Hong Kong Chinese, a local CVD risk assessment model is needed. With the support of The University of Nottingham and the University of London in the UK, and Amgen Hong Kong, the Innovation and Technology Bureau of the Hong Kong SAR Government and four divisions of The University of Hong Kong, namely, the LKS Faculty of Medicine, School of Nursing, School of Public Health and Department of Computer Science, have jointly developed P-CARDIAC, the first personalised, Chinese-specific risk assessment model for cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases to accurately predict the risk for Hong Kong Chinese. At the virtual roundtable, Prof Ian Wong will present the burden of CVD prediction and prevention in Hong Kong. Dr Sze Ling Celine Chui will share the limitations of existing risk assessment models and introduce P-CARDIAC.
